The stay

A proper country welcome.

Your Airbnb is inside the house: stone walls, mature maples, a deep green lawn, and a front porch made for a slow coffee before a matinee.

Out here the evenings are still. After a day of theatre, shops and riverside walks in town, you come back to open sky, crickets, and a good night's sleep.

The neighbour

Next door, the old Irish schoolhouse.

Steps from your door stands a one-room schoolhouse raised by the area's Irish settlers. Its date stone still reads 1863.

Generations of farm children learned their letters here. Today it catches the last of the evening sun, and it is the first thing you will want to photograph.
